This is a rare and spectacular vintage Butler & Wilson brooch in the form of a peacock.
Crafted in black coated metal, the beautifully detailed brooch is set with sparkling clear crystals and graduating shades of pink that intensify in colour towards the peacock's face and body. A regal crown, set with pink aurora borealis stones, adds an elegant touch, while additional aurora borealis accents highlight the wing, enhancing the brooch’s brilliance.
Native to India, peacocks symbolise prosperity and immortality, making them a prominent motif in traditional paintings, jewellery, textiles, and temple carvings. Butler & Wilson, known for its extravagant and artistic designs, has created numerous peacock-themed pieces over the years. Their vibrant feathers and elegant form have long inspired jewellery design, often recreated in intricate pieces adorned with colorful crystals.
