A magnificent pair of vintage YSL heart-shaped clip on earrings.
Crafted in gold coloured metal and set with mesmerising emerald green Gripoix cabochon, with cursive Yves Saint Laurent engraving.
Beautifully crafted and in excellent vintage condition.
Dates 1980s. Made in France on reverse.
The heart has been the emblem of the House of Saint Laurent since the 1960s. Yves St. Laurent is quoted as saying 'without an elegance of the heart, there is no elegance' and each season a heart was placed on his favourite model on the runway; thus the heart became a symbol of the house, seen across heritage and contemporary design.
