A beautiful Dior chain necklace with black enamel pendant set with crystals suspended from CD logo.
Signed Chr. Dior © Germany with CD initials at the end of the extender chain.
The necklace is in excellent vintage condition all crystals intact and no damage to the enamel.
Length: 38 cm - 43 cm with extender chain
The pendant is 3 cm deep and 1.5 cm at its widest point
Christian Dior (1905-1957) was one of the most celebrated couturiers of the 20th century. In 1947 Dior launched the 'New Look' collection celebrating ultra-femininity and glamour in women's fashion, which appealed to the mood of post-war society. Christian Dior launched his first collection of fashion jewellery to complement his garments in 1948.
In 1955 Christian Dior granted the exclusive license to manufacture his designs to Henkel and Grosse, based in the famous goldsmith town of Pforzheim Germany; Henkel and Grosse held the license for 50 years, until 2005, when the company was taken over by Dior.
