Yves Saint Laurent (1936 - 2008) was named head of the House of Dior after Dior’s death in 1957. His first collection and runway show under his own name was in 1962 and jewellery featured in his collections from inception. In 1966, Saint Laurent became the first couturier to open a ready-to-wear boutique under his name. In the same year, he introduced his most iconic garment, the tuxedo - 'le smoking' in the Autumn/Winter collection, which he adapted to suit the female body. Yves Saint Laurent vintage jewellery is highly sought after and known for its bold and glamorous style.
